Website terms

Version 1 · Last updated 2 November 2026. These terms apply when you buy a website from Red Hills Lab, whether you pay once or take the monthly or yearly plan. They're for businesses, not consumers. If anything here is unclear, email hello@redhillslab.com before you agree.

1. Who we are

Red Hills Lab Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 14255112, registered office 1 Roseneath Avenue, Leicester, LE4 7GS. "We" means Red Hills Lab. "You" means the business buying the website.

2. What you're buying

Pay once. A new website of up to six pages:

• designed for phones, with booking or enquiries one tap away
• your prices on the page
• built to be found on Google and AI search (see section 6)
• two rounds of changes
• 30 days of aftercare after launch

The price is £2,870 + VAT. We set the site up on your own hosting account. After the 30 days of aftercare, the site is yours to host and maintain.

Monthly plan. Everything in pay once, plus:

• hosting, security and backups
• up to two hours of small changes a month (unused hours don't roll over)
• replies drafted for your new Google reviews every week, for you to approve
• a Google post drafted every month, posted once you approve it
• a short update every month, and a monthly check for speed and broken links
• a Google and AI check every quarter, with the fixes made

£299 + VAT a month.

Yearly plan. The same as the monthly plan, paid once a year: £2,870 + VAT a year, which is 20% less than paying monthly.

Not included unless we agree it in writing:

• photography (see section 8)
• a full rebrand
• online shops or gift cards
• extra pages
• copy beyond what's in your quote
• social media
• paid ads
• third-party costs, such as your domain, booking system and (on pay once) hosting

3. Price and payment

Pay once:

• 50% deposit (£1,435 + VAT) to start, and 50% when the site is ready to launch. We launch once the balance is paid.
• Invoices are due within 7 days.
• Hosting is paid by you, directly to the provider (usually £15–35 a month).

Monthly plan:

• £299 + VAT a month, paid in advance by card, starting on the day you sign up.
• The plan runs for 12 months. After that it continues month to month, and either of us can end it with 30 days' notice.
• If you end the plan in the first 12 months, the remaining months are due.
• If you pay monthly, you stay on monthly payments. You can move to the yearly plan at any time.

Yearly plan:

• £2,870 + VAT a year, paid in advance by card, starting on the day you sign up.
• It renews automatically every year, on the same date, at the same price, unless we've told you about a price change at least 60 days before.
• We'll email you about six weeks before each renewal, so the payment is never a surprise.
• To stop it renewing, tell us at least 30 days before your renewal date. Your plan then runs to the end of the year you've paid for.
• Yearly payments aren't refunded for part of a year.

All plans:

• All prices are plus VAT at the current rate.
• If a payment is more than 14 days late, we may pause work, or take the site offline, until it's paid.

4. Our four-week guarantee

The promise: your website is live within four weeks of the start date.

The start date is the day both of these are true:

• your first payment has been made (the deposit, or the first monthly or yearly payment), and
• we have your content: logo, photos (or a booked shoot), menu or price list, opening hours and the onboarding form.

What we need from you: feedback within three working days each time we send something for review. Every working day you're late adds a working day to the four weeks. So does any change to the scope you ask for after the start date.

If we're late:

• Pay once: you get 10% of the website fee back.
• Monthly or yearly plan: we credit you 10% of a year's fees on your plan (£358.80 + VAT on monthly, £287 + VAT on yearly).

This is a single payment or credit, however late we are. Either way, we still finish the site.

What it doesn't cover: delays caused by third parties outside our control, such as your domain registrar, booking provider or a platform outage. If that happens, we'll tell you straight away.

5. Changes and approval

Two rounds of changes are included. A round is one set of feedback, sent together. We'll show you the site before launch, and we only launch it once you approve it. While we're waiting for your approval, the four-week clock is paused.

6. Google and AI search

• We set up your site the way Google and AI tools expect: your menu or timetable, prices, hours and booking written as text; page titles, descriptions, headings and image descriptions; your business details built into the site in a format search tools read; your site submitted to Google and Bing; and tracking for visits and booking clicks.
• We set up your Google listing to match, and match your Apple Maps, Bing and Yelp listings.
• We send you a Can They Find You? scorecard at launch and re-check it 60 days later. On a monthly or yearly plan, we check again every quarter and make the fixes.
• We draft review replies and Google posts for you to approve. Nothing is posted without your approval, and we never write reviews.
• We don't promise rankings, bookings or revenue. No one can honestly promise those.

7. Your responsibilities

• You confirm you have the right to use everything you send us: words, photos, logos and music.
• You check the facts on your site before launch (prices, hours, allergens, legal notices). They're your responsibility.
• You give us the access we need: domain, Google listing and booking system.
• You give us manager access to your Google Business Profile, and you approve review replies and posts before they go out.

8. Photo shoot (add-on)

• £500 + VAT for a half-day shoot of your space, your food or products, and your team. Paid when you book it.
• You get about 40 edited photos within five working days.
• You own the photos and can use them anywhere, for anything.
• One free reschedule with 48 hours' notice. After that, a missed or cancelled shoot is charged in full.

9. Who owns what

Pay once: once the balance is paid, the website's design, copy and content are yours. We may show the work in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

Monthly and yearly plans:

• We build and host the site for you while the plan is active.
• Your domain and any content you supply are always yours. So are the photos from any shoot.
• If you leave before your contract ends (the first 12 months on monthly, or the year you've paid for on yearly), the remaining payments for that contract are due.
• Once your contract is paid in full, the site is yours. We hand over your content and photos, and we'll move the site to your own hosting account if you'd like.

10. Cancelling before launch

Pay once: you can cancel at any time by email. The deposit covers the work done up to then and isn't refundable. If we've done more than the deposit covers, we'll invoice the difference at the same rate.

11. Liability

• We're responsible for doing the work with reasonable skill and care.
• Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profit, lost bookings or lost data.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

12. Confidentiality and data

We keep your business information private. We handle personal information as set out in our privacy policy.

13. General

• These terms, your quote and the boxes you ticked when you agreed make up the whole agreement.
• If we change these terms, the change only applies to new agreements.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

Can They Find You? audit

• A full audit of how your business shows up on Google, Maps and AI assistants, with every fix listed step by step.
• £350 + VAT, paid in full when you order.
• We email it within 3 working days of payment. Working days are Monday to Friday, not counting UK bank holidays.
• It's a report for you to act on. We don't change anything on your website or listings unless you hire us for the fixes.
• It comes with a fixed quote for the fixes. If you hire us to do them, the £350 comes off that quote.
• The 2-point guarantee applies to fixes we do for you, not to the audit itself.
• The audit fee isn't refundable once the audit has been sent.
• If you'd like us to talk you through the audit, reply and we'll set up 20 minutes. It's optional and included.
